Denne antologi fokuserer på velfærdsbyens sociale og fysiske rum. I en komposition af artikler og refleksioner forsøger antologien at tegne et billede af den kompleksitet, der kendetegner den moderne velfærdsby. Boligrum, arkitektoniske rum, forbrugsrum og livsstilsrum er gennemgående temaer. Baggrunden for arbejdet er velfærdssamfundets forsøg på at tilpasse sig en rolle, hvor det ikke kun skal stå som garant for industrisamfundets socialpolitiske agenda, men også skal tage hånd om konsumsamfundets voksende forbrugs- og miljøproblemer.

This anthology focuses on the physical and social spaces of urban welfare. In a collage of chapters and reflections, the anthology attempts to explore the complexity of modern urban welfare. Housing space, architectural space, consumption space and lifestyle space are recurring themes. The basis for this work is the attempt of the welfare socity to adapt to a role in which it not onlyt will guarantee the social policy agenda of the industrial society, but also attempt to solve the growing consumption and environmental problems of the consumer society.
