Karla doesn’t have a dad. She was made with the help of a donor’s gift, her mother has explained. Karla doesn’t quite understand what a donor is, but he must be a very nice man, as he helped both Mum and Karla come together. And so that Granddad and Granny and Karla could have each other. But the donor can’t help Karla get a father. It doesn’t matter right now either, because Karla is busy playing with all her friends.
